| Midtower System (Basic System) |
|
VEI's MidTower is an essentially modified design to current PC's in the market today. The "Marinized" computer is mounted on shock absorbers to isolate it from impact and vibration; cooled by 3 Fans; Internal adaptors are ties down to restrain them from popping out; and the hardware has been thoroughly test for Software capability with today's charting programs.
The marine environment is poisonous to computer systems vulnerable to corrosion, heat, humidity, vibration, impacts and voltage fluctuations. Desktop computers, even laptop computers, weren't built to survive such harsh conditions. "Marinized" computers are like "Marinized" engines - a makeshift solution, a few parts changed but nothing essentially different.
The Mid Tower
system includes a supermicro highly integrated AGP
Single Chipset mainboard with a 133MHz front side bus for INTEL chips with:
4 USB ports, 3 PCI slots, 1 AMR slot, onboard 4X AGP graphics, 16bit audio
(optional), 10/100 LAN (optional), 56K v.90 modem, a 1.44MB floppy and
50-52X CD-ROM in a stylish case. Mouse and keyboard are also included.
